When my son turned four years old, he wanted to have a dinosaur birthday party. As with all the birthday parties I plan, the first step was nailing down an invitation design.
The dinosaur birthday invitations online were a mixed bag. Some were great, but not quite what I was looking for. Other premade dinosaur-themed birthday invitation cards were downright ugly.
So I made my own 4th birthday dinosaur invitations! (This was also the only party where I didn’t have any printed, and just used the design on Facebook. NEVER again. I love having the printed ones!)
But I know not everyone is able to DIY dinosaur invitations for themselves. After seeing the lack of variety, I also decided to create a collection of dinosaur birthday invitation templates. And I’m even giving one blank template away for FREE!
Most people are looking for dinosaur invitations for a boy, but of course, girls like dinosaurs too! So don’t worry, I’ve made some cute girl dinosaur invitations, too. (Because sometimes girls still prefer pink with their dinosaurs.)

Dinosaur First Birthday Invitations
Since our babies can’t quite tell us what they’d like the best, we have to decide things for them. Dinosaurs are a popular 1st birthday theme because baby dinosaurs look so stinkin’ cute!
Baby Dinosaur Invitations
This dinosaur birthday invitation for babies turning one features a toddler wearing a dinosaur costume – how cute! The wording includes “Let’s chomp, stomp, and have some fun!” to rhyme with the word “one.”

I didn’t have to make a dinosaur-themed birthday invite for this idea, because there were already lots of cute ones to choose from!

Toddler Dinosaur Invitations
Dinosaur birthday party invitations are often needed for the two- to the four-year-old crowd. Why are dinosaurs so fascinating to that age group? Probably because they are so tiny, and dinosaurs are so BIG!

“Two Wild” pretty much nails the description of most toddlers. I’ve seen the phrase used on jungle, safari, and zoo-themed birthday parties, but I think it works perfectly with dinosaurs as well! And it sounds a little nicer than “terrible twos.”

All jokes aside, when planning my dinosaur 3rd birthday invitation wording, I tried to make triceratops work. But all “tri” jokes seemed a bit too out there for toddlers to really appreciate. Three-Rex works much better!

Dino-Four Invitations
A whole year after his fourth birthday party, my son still absolutely loves dinosaurs, so I’m glad we went with this theme! I even made some digital art of him from his party using the “Dino-Four” phrase!

The one thing I don’t offer in my shop, for a lot of reasons, is DIY editable templates for my invitations. But I totally get why a lot of people like them! You don’t have to wait for someone else to customize the invitation on your behalf, but you still get a nice, professional-looking invitation to print.
